2007-2008. OneGoal starts as an afterschool program called Urban Students Empowered (US Empowered) in Dunbar High School in Chicago. The office is “headquartered” at a Caribou Coffee in downtown Chicago. OneGoal's history charts our expansion to six regions across the United States as a leader in postsecondary access and success. OneGoal continues to support Fellows remotely for one full year following their high school graduation. Additionally, Fellows are connected to on-campus supports and empowered to lean on the non-cognitive skills, such as growth mindset and self-efficacy, developed in high school to drive their success.
